I had been fretting over the purchase of my first doll for months, saving money and constantly weighing the factors of looks, weight, realism, durability, and cost. The skin surface over all was amazingly soft. There was a very light chemical smell to the TPE but greatly diminished after her first cleaning. Yes, they all recommend cleaning your doll well when it arrives. I have to say that the packing was better than I had seen. They are a trustworthy business partner.
